There has been a lot of concerns about reliability in Formula 1 as teams become even more restricted in the amount of parts they can use throughout a season to cut costs.
Back at their factories, F1 teams put parts through non-destructive testing before they make it to the track.
One of the ways is through ultrasonic testing, which scans the internals of carbon fibre components to ensure there are no cracks or imperfections that could result in a retirement.
