Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has revealed Liam Lawson's feedback at the team is leaving it impressed.
Horner highlighted the information Lawson is relaying to the Milton Keynes-based squad is consistent with what team-mate Max Verstappen is saying.
Lawson has joined Red Bull despite having just 11 grand prix starts under his belt.
The New Zealander has replaced Sergio Perez at the team after Red Bull opted to part ways with the F1 veteran at the end of last year.
Lawson has been getting up to speed at pre-season testing, with his early efforts leaving the team impressed.
“He’s done a great job so far,” Horner told F1 TV.
“He's working his way into the team and his feedback is good. It's consistent with what Max is saying.
“We’re enjoying working with him, and he just needs laps. So today, he's in the car all day, and we'll see how he goes.
Horner has asserted Red Bull will be patient with Lawson as it acknowledged it will take time for the 23-year-old to get up to speed.
“We’re going to have to give him a little bit of time. He's only done 11 grands prix he's not quite a rookie, but he's not far off there.
“It’s a big step for him, but he's got broad shoulders and a good racing head on him.
“I think he'll be fine. He's a tough character and very, very determined. It's great to have that enthusiasm in the car.”
