Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner believes that Max Verstappen will be "untouchable" in his current form at Red Bull.

The Dutchman won his 10th victory in a row at the Italian Grand Prix, beating the record held previously by Sebastian Vettel.

With him well on his way to securing his third world title, Horner expects it will be tough for teams to catch up and upset his streak of wins in the latter part of the season.

"Max is in a period of his career where he's just simply untouchable," he told media, including RacingNews365.

"I don't think there's any driver on the grid that will be able to achieve what he's been doing in that car.

"Being his teammate is probably - in some respects - the most enviable job to have because the barometer is so high.

"It's very difficult and I think what we're witnessing at the moment is a driver that is generational [talent]."

Verstappen shown 'incredible form' in last three years

Out of the 14 races won by Verstappen, he has only been beaten by teammate Sergio Perez twice: the Saudi Arabian and Azerbaijan Grands Prix.

Verstappen was hampered by a drive shaft failure in Jeddah, while Perez showed his sublime pace around the street track in Baku.

But on the occasions where Verstappen has taken a grid penalty and Perez has started from pole, the Mexican has failed to convert it into a win.

"If you've looked at the previous races, I think in Bahrain he was already in a commanding position," said Horner.

"He then had a drive shaft failure in Saudi in qualifying and his recovery through the field was was impressive there. So he's been in incredible form for the last three years."
