Franco Colapinto has received a stop/go penalty for a starting procedure infringement at the beginning of the Australian Grand Prix.
The Alpine driver was the only one on the grid to be penalised at the first start of the new power unit regulations, which saw several drivers move off the line very slowly.
Colapinto had qualified in 15th, but found himself well adrift of the pack in last prior to taking the punishment as a result of pitting.
There was drama before the race even got underway, as Oscar Piastri crashed on his sighting lap while an issue saw Nico Hulkenberg fail to start the race.
Isack Hadjar became the first driver to retire in the race itself on lap 11 at Melbourne's Albert Park, due to a technical failure.
