Exclusive: Red Bull commit to major F1 overhaul in bid to win back titles

Read the latest part of RacingNews365's exclusive interview with Red Bull F1 technical director Pierre Waché.

Red Bull technical director Pierre Waché has explained just how much of the RB22 machine will be carried over into the 2027 RB23, in an exclusive RacingNews365 interview.

After a slow start to the season, Red Bull has transformed its car into a race-winning machine, with Max Verstappen claiming victory in Sepang and in Singapore, with an upgrade in Azerbaijan unleashing performance from the car.

Work is firmly underway on designing the new car for the 2027 season, with Red Bull expected to start the new season strongly and carry over its momentum into the second year of the regulations.

Although the 2026 titles are now firmly out of reach for Verstappen, Isack Hadjar, and the team, 2027 marks a strong opportunity to carry the newfound momentum over.

Detailing just how much of the RB22 will be carried over, Waché explained that "close to nothing" will make it to the RB23.

"There are some modifications to the regulations, and we have plenty of limitations on the car - and I'm sure others have different limitations," Waché exclusively told RacingNews365 when asked how much of the RB22 would carry over to 2027.

"It is not good for the [cost] cap, so we try to transfer not as much; it is not good for the budget cap, but we try to make plenty of new parts on the car.

"More or less close to nothing will transfer [to 2027], because there are plenty [of areas] we think we have identified we can improve.

"[These are] in terms of packaging, aerodynamics, and mechanical, and we will transfer some stuff, but it will be a very small amount, like the gearbox and chassis will be different."
