Former F1 team principal Eddie Jordan has shared an update on his “aggressive” cancer diagnosis.

Jordan revealed late last year he has been battling bladder and prostate cancer after it was detected in early 2024.

The 76-year-old has continued to provide F1 punditry throughout his illness, becoming well-known over the last 20 years for not holding back on his opinions, however outlandish they may be.

Appearing on the latest episode of the Formula For Success podcast alongside co-host David Coulthard, Jordan provided a candid update on his situation.

“I'm in the middle of a chemo cycle at the moment, but I happen to be, as we're doing this recording, in good shape,” he told Coulthard when asked how he was.

“I must say guys and girls - don’t be afraid. Go and get tested. I'll just leave it at that. I don't want to be just like a gramophone record going round and round.

“But the reality is that there is a great chance of survival. There's an unbelievable opportunity of good medical care everywhere in the world now with chemotherapy. They seem to have their act together.

“So DC, thank you for asking. Cape Town has been brilliant. I've had four chemos so far. You never know if it has completely gone, I might have to go for another one or two.

“You wouldn't want your very best friend to have chemo because it's not very desirable.

“But at the same time, the outlook and the future is great. So God bless those guys in the medical field.”

Jordan owned his eponymous F1 team for 15 years, winning six grands prix.
