Max Verstappen secured Pole Position for the Austrian Sprint in a dramatic damp-to-dry Sprint Shootout.
The reigning World Champion lead teammate Sergio Perez by half-a-second at the Red Bull Ring, with McLaren's Lando Norris an impressive third place.
An equally-impressive Nico Hulkenberg placed his Haas car in fourth, ahead of Carlos Sainz, who survived an early exit from the first part of qualifying after a technical issue, and teammate Charles Leclerc.
Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll took seventh and eighth for Aston Martin, ahead of Esteban Ocon and Kevin Magnussen.
In a shocker of a day for Mercedes, George Russell was the highest-placed in P15 after developing technical issues in the second part of qualifying.
But this was topped by Lewis Hamilton providing the shock of the Shootout by finishing in P18 after failing to complete a clean lap in the first part of qualifying.
