The Red Bull duo set the exact same time of 1:20.827s as Sergio Perez edged out Max Verstappen with Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso within two tenths.
Liam Lawson won the 'rookie' class although his AlphaTauri of Yuki Tsunoda ground to a halt, bringing an early end to the session.
