There is a long list of drivers, including Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton, who are set to miss Free Practice 1 of the Mexican Grand Prix.

Under F1's sporting regulations, each driver must give his car up twice in FP1 sessions - for four overall, and for some drivers, Mexico FP1 will be the first session they miss.

Hamilton for example, has not stepped out of the Ferrari all-season, but long-time Ferrari-affiliated driver Antonio Fuoco finally makes his F1 debut in a competitive session.

Elsewhere, F2 protege Arvid Lindblad replaces Verstappen at Red Bull, with IndyCar star Pato O'Wardd taking Lando Norris's McLaren.

This means that team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri must sit out FP1 in the potential title-deciding Abu Dhabi GP, given of the four races remaining after Mexico, two are sprints with a sole practice session.

The other races are Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi, with Piastri not going to step out in Nevada.
