Classic video: Yellow flag not enough to stop these reckless drivers

One of the most important, if not the most important, rules in motorsport is to respect yellow flags when they are saved. However the drivers in the video below likely skipped that lesson, because otherwise, why did they choose not to lift off the gas?

Safety is paramount at every level of motorsport, but it doesn't look like some of the drivers in the video below from 2012 at the Sachsenring got that memo.

With one of the drivers stationed off the track, the recovery vehicle - which is positioned in an awkward position - takes the track in an attempt to move the stalled car to get the action back on track. You'd think that the other competitions would lift off the gas with yellow flags waving, but that definitely wasn't the case.

Two cars slam into the vehicle, avoiding injury, though questions have to be asked considering reckless driving like that shouldn't occur at any level.
