Charles Leclerc believes a podium in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix can avoid sending Ferrari into the F1 Christmas break on a "quite depressing" final two races.
In Qatar, both Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton struggled badly all weekend, with Hamilton being knocked out in Q1 in both qualifying sessions and finishing outside of the points, as Leclerc took eighth in the grand prix.
During qualifying, he suffered a high-speed spin in Q3, as the SF-25 struggled for both grip and performance in a largely below-par season for the Scuderia in which it is to finish in fourth in the constructors', with no grand prix wins, unless Leclerc or Hamilton can take the team's first ever at Yas Marina.
This is something Leclerc felt was "unrealistic" but that a podium was possible to ensure "happiness" heading into the winter.
"On the one hand, yes, but at the same time, I'm just looking forward to Abu Dhabi to try and finish the season on a more positive note," Leclerc told media when asked by RacingNews365 if he was glad 2025 was nearly over.
"I'm hoping to give us a little bit more happiness to go into the holidays because it would be quite depressing to go into the holidays after two weekends like [Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
"That would be very bad, but I just want to get [Abu Dhabi] out of the way, but in a positive way.
"I just want to do absolutely everything in order to extract whatever is left in our car, and hopefully jump on the podium one last time this year.
"A win is quite unrealistic, but a podium, I really hope so, but to be honest, after a race [like Qatar], I have very little hope."
