Charles Leclerc has expressed his fury over the "borderline dangerous" brake issues which led to his Ferrari crashing out in Monaco.
On Lap 65 on a safety car restart, Leclerc crashed into the barrier at the final corner after locking up, with the race then red-flagged for track repairs as the track broke up.
However, Leclerc, who was battling brake issues throughout the previous race in Canada and all weekend in Monaco, felt this had minimal impact on the crash, as he spoke out against "looking like an idiot" and the "borderline dangerous" braking issues.
"It doesn't help to have asphalt coming up, but the data speaks for itself. I don't know how much I can go into detail, but it is extremely frustrating," Leclerc told Sky Sports F1.
"I think I've always been very honest, and no matter how many mistakes I make, I will hate to look at myself in the mirror and see myself making excuses when I make a mistake, so that's why I am always bluntly honest whenever I'm in front of the cameras.
"But I am not going to take that today. There is just something about those brakes on the front that they broke a lot more than I thought, and the rear brakes had no deceleration at all.
"I had no rear brakes, and that's what I've been dealing with for two races. We had some differences between the cars, but I don't think that is a disadvantage for me.
"Montreal, with the cold tyres, the inconsistency, and the tyres being more sensitive and being on the limit, means it's been an absolute nightmare, and I am weighing up my words.
"I don't have many words, but today, I look like an idiot, and when you look like an idiot for a mistake of yours, it is fine, but it is borderline dangerous."
