Sergio Perez cost Cadillac €1700 in fines after being caught speeding twice in the pit lane within 13 minutes during the opening practice session for the new Spanish Grand Prix.
The initial hour-long run around the 22-corner Madring, in Madrid's IFEMA district, was only three minutes in when Perez exceeded the 80km/h pit lane speed limit by 6.7km/h. That resulted in a €700 fine.
Shortly after, Perez was caught speeding at 96.7km/h - 16.7km/h over the limit - leading to an additional €1000 penalty for the team.
