Charles Leclerc has been found guilty of speeding in the pit lane during practice for the Canadian Grand Prix, but avoided major repercussions.

Whilst the Ferrari driver was not hit by a penalty, his team received a €1,000 fine, after he was clocked going 16.3km/h over the 80km/h speed limit at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.

The Monegasque driver went on to finish the session in Montreal in fourth, behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton in third and the two Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.

It was an eventful session, with three red flag stoppages. First, Liam Lawson's Racing Bulls became stranded out on track due to a hydraulic issue.

Then, Alex Albon sadly killed a marmot with his Williams, something that caused him to crash as he was trying to avoid the rodent.

Lastly, Esteban Ocon wiped the nose off his Haas with only a matter of minutes to go in a session that was already extended by 19 minutes to account for the prior disruptions.
