Charles Leclerc has doubled down on the contentious remarks he made in Monaco, which prompted a statement from Ferrari's official brake partner, Brembo, ahead of this weekend's Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
After crashing out of his home race, the Monegasque driver hit out at Brembo, insisting he had been suffering from a "borderline dangerous" issue with the brakes.
Leclerc has complained about the brakes for several events and has now decided to switch to Lewis Hamilton's configuration from this weekend. It is believed to feature components from a different supplier.
The 28-year-old's scathing remarks resulted in an official statement from Brembo, in which the company criticised the comments made by the Ferrari driver.
Discussing his crash from last weekend and the strength of his remarks, Leclerc did not back down.
Discussing whether his opinion of the Monaco crash had changed after reviewing the race, Leclerc told select media, including RacingNews365: "No, but yeah, again, I don't want to speak too much about what happened.
"I rarely speak quickly, but if I do, it's because I've checked beforehand, so I don't have much to add."
Ferrari has been experimenting with different brake configurations this season, with Hamilton revealing in Barcelona that both he and Leclerc tried his set-up in Japan.
However, according to the seven-time world champion, Leclerc opted to stick with the configuration he had already been using, something the Monegasque driver has since confirmed.
Asked about Hamilton revealing that Leclerc chose to stick with his current brake configuration in Japan, and whether he had to deal with Brembo's statement internally, Leclerc replied: "Well, I mean, I won't comment too much on the second part. I don't have much more to add on that.
"On Lewis, Lewis is right. It was a decision that we made as a team to kind of split the cars, and the last two weekends have been more difficult than I initially anticipated.
"Yeah, I will go in the direction of Lewis."
