Bernie Ecclestone, the FIA, and Formula 1 have been granted an appeal against the verdict to allow Felipe Massa's £64 million court case to go to full trial by the UK Supreme Court.
In October 2025, Massa attended a three-day hearing at London's High Court, with RacingNews365 present throughout, as he sought to take former F1 CEO Ecclestone, F1's governing body the FIA, and FOM itself to trial to seek damages over the handling of crashgate in 2008.

Oscar Piastri has told the FIA that it "can't change the result" of the Monaco Grand Prix now, with the paddock awaiting the outcome of Alpine's Right of Review.

Charles Leclerc has doubled down on the contentious remarks he made in Monaco, which prompted a statement from Ferrari's official brake partner, Brembo, ahead of this weekend's Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix.
After crashing out of his home race, the Monegasque driver hit out at Brembo, insisting he had been suffering from a "borderline dangerous" issue with the brakes.
FIA extend F1 contract with Pirelli
F1 has confirmed that the championship will continue to race exclusively on Pirelli tyres for the next two seasons.
The Italian company already has a deal until the end of 2027, but the option for 2028 has now been picked up by the FIA after mutual agreement between the parties.
Female motorsport duo to make BBC F1 history
Alice Powell and Abbi Pulling are set to make history at this weekend's Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, becoming the first all-female Formula 1 commentator and co-commentator pairing in BBC Sport history.
Powell, 33, steps into the lead commentary role in place of Harry Benjamin, who is committed to duties with Sky Sports F1 in Barcelona.
