Max Verstappen has put pen to paper on a new Red Bull deal, bringing to an end a considerable period of uncertainty for the Dutchman and the Milton Keynes-based team.
It comes after significant speculation that the 28-year-old might seek out pastures new, with McLaren emerging as the favourite alternative destination for the 71-time grand prix winner's signature, with the long-standing interest from Mercedes slowly waining.
The four-time world champion has signed a new deal which lasts until the end of the 2030 season, keeping him in the sport for the first campaign of the next regulatory set.
As a result, Verstappen will remain in F1 throughout the current new power unit regulations, which he has been highly critical of so far this season.
Verstappen's previous deal expired at the end of 2028 with an option to leave the Austrian marque this year, although that will now no longer happen.
His commitment to Red Bull brings to an end a significant point in this year's silly season, as it means a decorated seat at the outfit is not available.
