Audi experienced a second fire of the day, with Gabriel Bortoleto stopping on track at the end of Q1 due to a brake fire on his R26.
It comes after Nico Hulkenberg's power unit went up in flames en route to the grid before the sprint, which rendered him unable to compete.
The Brazilian driver qualified last for the Miami Grand Prix, but it was a miracle he even made it out for the grid-setting session after an issue with the air intake of his car saw him disqualified from the sprint.
It did not look like the German team would be able to fix the problem in time to participate in qualifying, but he managed to get out in time to set a push lap.
