Alpine executive adviser Flavio Briatore will replace managing director Steve Nielsen in the FIA team representatives press conference at the Chinese Grand Prix, RacingNews365 understands.
Nielsen is ill, so the flamboyant Italian will deputise for him in his absence at the Shanghai International Circuit, in the press conference that will take place at 13:30 local time on Friday, 13th March.
He will join Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies and Audi boss Jonathan Wheatley on the three-person panel between FP1 and sprint qualifying.
Nielsen is expected to be back at the track tomorrow, to take the helm of Team Enstone during the sprint and full grand prix qualifying.
Alpine endured a difficult campaign in 2025, but started this season with points at the curtain-raising Australian Grand Prix, with Pierre Gasly finishing tenth.
