George Russell escaped punishment after being investigated at the United States Grand Prix for allegedly forcing Charles Leclerc off the track during FP2 at the Circuit of the Americas.
The stewards took the unusual step of conducting the review during the second hour of running in Austin, when such matters are normally handled after track action concludes in practice.
In the opening 20 minutes of the free practice 2 at COTA, Leclerc caught Russell through the sweeping Turn 16-17-18 sequence in the final sector, with the Mercedes pushing the Ferrari — which appeared to be experiencing better deployment — wide and off the circuit.
It is Kimi Antonelli's first opportunity to wrap up the F1 drivers' title this weekend. However, to seal the deal in Texas, the Italian driver must win with his team-mate finishing ninth or lower. Additionally, Lewis Hamilton must take the chequered flag in fifth or worse.
