Valtteri Bottas was the man at the wheel of the car that triggered the second red flag of the final day of testing after stopping on track. Driving through the second sector of the Bahrain International Circuit, the Alfa Romeo appeared to encounter a mechanical issue. Onboard footage showed the car being parked in fifth gear, which suggested a gearbox-related issue. Upon parking the car, Bottas simply confirmed to the team: "I lost the drive". It's the second stoppage in two days for the Alfa Romeo team, who encountered problems with his C43 when attempting to complete a practice start at the end of the pit lane. Alfa Romeo are yet to confirm the exact nature of the failure, but the team had clocked 72 laps around the Bahrain circuit, which was the highest lap count of the day up to the time of their problems. Sergio Perez triggered the first red flag of the day earlier in the morning after a sensor came lose and was left on the track.
