Jake Dennis converted pole position into victory in Formula E's Sanya E-Prix, in what was a chaotic visit to the Hainan island for the first time since 2019.
Dennis led home an Andretti one-two with Felipe Drugovich securing second, ahead of fellow rookie Pepe Martí. aguar's Antonio Felix da Costa and Maximilian Günther completed the top five.
It was a major race in the title fight, as championship leader Mitch Evans had an incident-filled race and finished 17th, while Oliver Rowland crashed out and Edoardo Mortara retired.
Porsche's Pascal Wehrlein also had a race to forget after falling to 14th after being one of multiple drivers with time penalties added to their finishing time.
*UPDATE: Drugovich received a five-second time penalty and dropped to fifth, promoting Martí to second with de Vries rising to third after his five-second time penalty was rescinded. Günther falls to sixth.
