Lando Norris topped the timesheets on the opening day of the first of two three-day tests in Bahrain, while Max Verstappen impressed.

Verstappen also improved to go second fastest after having the entire day in Red Bull's RB22, while most other teams ran both drivers.
There was a brief red flag due to Audi's Nico Hulkenberg coming to a halt, although he was quickly able to continue running and gathering data.
