Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri kept their cards close to their chests following another damaging collision between the McLaren duo.
On the last lap of a rain-affected Singapore Sprint race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit, Norris opted to dive down the inside of Piastri at the Turn 5 right-hander as he pushed for fourth place.
Clearly blind-sided, Piastri did not see Norris to his right and on the inside, leading to the duo crashing into one another. Whilst Norris was able to continue to finish eighth, Piastri retired immediately.
The accident was not as sizeable as their shunt in last year's Canadian GP, but ramifications are likely to be felt internally, especially as Norris had nothing to gain other than a single extra point for a possible fourth.
The stewards are investigating the incident and Norris could yet be penalised.
Addressing the collision on Sky Sports F1, Norris was reticent with his answers. "I’d rather just go back and review it," was his initial response when asked, before stating, from his perspective, that the move on Piastri "was" on.
As to whether the team had said anything to him yet, he replied: “I apologised to them that one of the cars is out but, as I said, the rest of it we’ll go review.”
From his cockpit point of view, Piastri remarked: "It’s for fourth and fifth for a sprint race, so I’m not that bothered either way.
"Just obviously it’s a lot of work now for the team to get both cars fixed. Just a shame for the team.”
