Lewis Hamilton has won nine times at Silverstone. No other driver in F1 history has managed more than eight victories at a single circuit.
This weekend, at the British Grand Prix, he has the chance to do something nobody has ever done: win the same race 10 times.
The Ferrari driver's love affair with the Northamptonshire circuit stretches back to 2008, when he claimed a stunning wet-weather victory for McLaren.
Since then, victories have come in clusters, with a dominant four-in-a-row from 2014 to 2017, a hat-trick from 2019 to 2021, and that emotional triumph last year that broke Michael Schumacher's record of eight wins at a single venue, which the German set at Magny-Cours.
Hamilton's nine Silverstone victories, after another famous triumph in 2024, sit in a league of their own.
His next closest personal tally is eight wins at the Hungaroring, while Schumacher managed seven at both Montreal and Imola.
Of current F1 drivers, only Max Verstappen has reached five wins at the same track, with the Dutchman reaching that mark in Spielberg, Mexico City and Yas Marina.
The 41-year-old arrives at his home race third in the 2026 drivers' standings on 125 points, buoyed by a Spanish Grand Prix victory that extended his all-time win record to 106; his SF-26 has been competitive all season, with four podiums from eight races and a points finish at every round.
Yet when the chance to make more F1 history was put to him during the FIA drivers' press conference at Silverstone, Hamilton played it down. "I'm really not thinking about the trophy," he told media, including RacingNews365.
Thinking about it or not, the record books are waiting. On Sunday, Hamilton could write a chapter in the sport that may never be matched.
