Max Verstappen took his third win of the season - and the 23rd of his F1 career - at the Miami Grand Prix, meaning that he is only three victories away from entering the list of the top 10 drivers to have scored the most wins in the sport's history.

However, whilst he has not quite reached that point yet, the Dutchman did break into the top 10 podium scorers with his P1 result at the Miami International Autodrome.

The event marked the 63rd podium that he has achieved since making his Formula 1 debut in 2015, with the Red Bull driver having now pushed David Coulthard - who racked up 62 podiums in the sport - off the list.

Just ahead of Verstappen is Valtteri Bottas, who so far has 67 podiums to his name.

Of the other still active F1 drivers on the list, Fernando Alonso is in sixth with 98 podiums, Sebastian Vettel places third thanks to his 122 podium finishes, and Lewis Hamilton sits at the top, having achieved 183 podiums so far.

How does Verstappen's percentage of podiums compare?

A key difference between current-day Formula 1 and in years past is the increase in races per season, meaning that the likes of Verstappen have the advantage of being able to accrue more podiums in each campaign nowadays.

However, when comparing the percentages of podium finishes in relation to total number of Grands Prix participated in for each driver, Verstappen's result compares well with some other names on the top 10 list.

The 24-year-old has almost as high a percentage as Vettel, though is still some way off the likes of Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna.

See below for the top 10 list (* indicates that a driver is still active in Formula 1).
