Valtteri Bottas has declared Cadillac's slow start to the season is "what I signed up for" as he pinpointed the team's biggest car weakness.
After four races, Cadillac is 10th in the standings and has been engaged in a battle with Aston Martin at the foot of the timesheets, although Bottas's 13th place in China is the best result thus far.
When questioned about whether he was frustrated with the situation, the 10-time grand prix winner explained that he was braced for "difficult times" before signing his deal to return to the grid - as he gave detail on where the MAC-26 chassis was struggling.
"There is no frustration, this is what I signed up for," Bottas told media when asked by RacingNews365 if he was frustrated with the start of the season.
"I knew there were going to be difficult times, but there are many hidden areas where we are improving the pace.
"The upgrades [in Miami] worked, but not every part is the same as what we put on the car, so there is still a bit of inconsistency there, but it is getting better.
"Our weakness is high-to-medium speed corners, and Montreal is only low-to-medium speed, so hopefully, we will be closer there."
