The 2026 F1 United States Grand Prix is set to feature weather conditions which could potentially aid drivers in making overtaking moves.
The race, set for a 15:00 local time start in Texas, is set to feature winds blowing in from the south-east, which is a direct headwind into the Turn 1 braking zone.
Headwinds increase the slipstream effect, meaning a following car can use this as extra boost to overtake a rival, with Turn 1 being one of the prime overtaking spots.
The other major spot is at the end of the back straight into Turn 12, but this runs north-east to south-west, meaning there will be a crosswind under braking from left-to-right as the driver looks into the left-hander.
In terms of temperatures, the race is expected to be run in the high 20-degree Celsius mark, possibly dipping into the low 30s.
Rain is not forecast, with the nearest current rain cells being to the north-north-west of Texas, with a system in the Rocky Mountains, but it will not travel to Austin to impact the 56-lap Grand Prix where Kimi Antonelli can become the youngest F1 world champion if he wins from pole position.
