It's Oscar Piastri who starts on 'pole position' for the first time in his Formula 1 career at the Qatar Grand Prix Sprint.
A final flying lap at Lusail was enough to leapfrog team-mate Lando Norris, who ran wide exiting the final corner on his last lap to secure the Australian P1.
It is the first time since the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix McLaren has started one-two on the grid, with Max Verstappen in third as he bids to win a third straight title.
All the Red Bull driver needs is a top six finish - or three points.
Sergio Perez is down in eighth and Lewis Hamilton in 12th having had a lap-time deleted in SQ2 that dropped him out.
