Max Verstappen has been extremely vocal about his discontent with the new F1 regulations, labelling them "anti-racing" and claiming that he has not enjoyed a single lap this year.
The four-time F1 drivers' champion has been expressing his dissatisfaction since pre-season testing, but his criticisms reached a new level at the recent Japanese Grand Prix.
Mired in a disappointing start to the campaign, the Red Bull driver opened the door to walking away from F1 at the end of 2026, something he had previously taken off the table as an option.
Sitting in ninth place in the standings, many have suggested that if his RB22 were a stronger package, he would not be complaining as much as he is, a claim Verstappen himself denies.
But, in the wake of the round at Suzuka, the Dutchman is starting to be met with criticisms of his own, namely from the likes of Martin Brundle and Juan Pablo Montoya.
The Briton has said the 28-year-old's position is "getting a bit boring" and that it is starting to "damage", whilst the former Williams and McLaren driver has told the 71-time grand prix winner to "shut up" and get on with things, essentially.
