Sergio Perez has shown off a helmet he was gifted from former team-mate Max Verstappen earlier this year.
The duo spent four seasons as team-mates at Red Bull from 2021 to 2024, with Verstappen winning the title every year they were paired together.
Perez enjoyed his best stretch with the team in 2022 and 2023 when he finished third and second, respectively in the standings.
Earlier this year, Verstappen commented that he would give Perez a helmet from his own collection as a thank you for their years together.
“I still need to give him a helmet of mine – I promised him that, because he gave me one of his with a very nice message on it,” Verstappen told media including RacingNews365 in June.
“I promised him, hopefully around Mexico that I can give him mine.
“So, for me, whatever is written in the media, I know how Checo is and we have a great relationship.”
In his latest Instagram post, Perez shared a mass of images from the past year, which included Verstappen's gifted helmet.
The message from Verstappen written on the front visor reads: “Thanks for being a great team-mate and friend”.
