Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas have been handed a ringing endorsement of their new-found partnership with Cadillac for next year.

Ahead of becoming F1's 11th team in 2026, Cadillac F1 CEO Dan Towriss and team principal Graeme Lowdon deliberated long and hard over its driver line-up.

A host of names were in the frame, with Towriss and Lowdon considering a veteran/young driver pairing before opting for 35-year-old Perez and 36-year-old Bottas, who have 527 grand prix starts, 16 victories and 106 podiums between them.

Towriss was so impressed by Perez, in particular, stating that the Mexican "nailed the meeting", referring to what was effectively a job interview.

Following on from the confirmation from Cadillac that Perez and Bottas had signed minimum two-year contracts, we asked you, our loyal readership in a poll, whether you felt they were the right choice.

It was met with a resounding result, with 80% of you indicating they are the ideal driver pairing and exactly what Cadillac needs to drive the team forward in its debut season.

Just 15% felt that Cadillac should have blended an experienced driver with a rookie, whilst the remainder were unsure.
