Daniel Ricciardo has stated he can't wait to “sweat my tits off” around Singapore as his F1 future faces further scrutiny.
Various media reports on the build-up to the race around the Marina Bay Circuit have stated the Australian is set to be replaced by Liam Lawson after the race weekend.
Ricciardo declared he is none the wiser regarding his future at the team beyond the Singapore event.
However, the 34-year-old highlighted the speculation over his future in F1 is nothing new to him.
“These are things that I think as early as Japan or Miami, there were [thoughts of] 'Okay, am I even going to rock up to the next race?’ Ricciardo told media including RacingNews365.
“I didn't hear that from the team, but obviously there was noise about that.
“You hear that one week, and then I put two good races together and Checo [Perez] doesn't, and then I'm like, ‘Oh, am I going to be in the Red Bull in the summer break?’”
Ricciardo aiming to impress at Singapore
Ricciardo insisted he is not becoming obsessed with the rumour mill as he looks to impress around Singapore - a venue at which he has scored four podiums during his career.
“The main thing is try not to get too high, try not to get too low. Just the end of the day, focus on myself,” he said.
“I think that's where I probably learned as well from the past, just not to get bogged down in too much other stuff. Because that will always be there. It'll always exist.
“But control the controllables, and that's me putting my best foot forward, and also making sure that I'm loving what I'm doing.
“As much of the year has had some highs and lows, and even now, standing here today, there's obviously a lot of pressure and speculation.
“I still am happy to be here, I still can't wait to get in the car. I can't wait to sweat my tits off.”
