Lewis Hamilton endured a frustrating competitive Ferrari debut after finishing 10th in a wet Australian Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion started the 2025 F1 season-opener from eighth on the grid, following a difficult qualifying for the Maranello-based team.

Hamilton failed to make many places in the opening laps and spent the majority of the race towards the bottom of the points.

He struggled in the SF-25, resulting in some heated radio conversations with race engineer Riccardo Adami.

View some of Hamilton's radio conversations below:

In the opening stages of the grand prix, Hamilton struggled with the aggressiveness of his car.

Hamilton: "Struggling with drivability, the car is snappy."

When in the pack early in the race, Ferrari was eager for the 40-year-old to make progress.

Adami: "You can use K1 when you're close."

Hamilton: "Leave me to it, please."

Adami: "K1 available."

Hamilton: "Yes I know, leave me to it please."

This continued later in the race when DRS was enabled, once the rain had stopped and the circuit started to dry.

Adami: "To avoid denying DRS, we suggest upshift and then DRS."

Hamilton: "Please leave it. Yes, please leave it. Learning my car as we go, mate. Just leave me to it with the DRS, it's not an issue."

Radio conversations about overtaking did not end there, with Adami having again informed Hamilton to try using K1.

Adami: "Try to hold the K1, just for practice. I know it's difficult."

Hamilton: "I'm not close enough!

Adami: "Copy."

Hamilton: "I'm not close enough. If I have him closer I'll do it."

On Lap 44, a sudden heavy rain shower caused chaos in Melbourne, triggering several drivers to pit for fresh intermediate tyres.

Hamilton opted against ditching slick tyres for intermediates initially after being informed that the rain would not be intense, resulting in the 105-time race winner taking the lead.

However, he soon had to pit for intermediates, as the race track became ever more saturated. As a result, Hamilton returned to the foot of the point-scoring positions, much to his frustration.

Hamilton: "Thought you said it wasn't going to rain much? Missed a big opportunity there."

Adami: "Understood."

Hamilton: "What position am I in now?

Adami: "P9."

Hamilton: "Shit... Sorry didn't realise the radio is on."
