Helmut Marko and Red Bull GmbH announced shortly after the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that the Austrian team advisor would be leaving the company, and with it, the F1 team.
Now, the 82-year-old's departure has been made official, with Companies House — the UK government's official registrar for companies — confirming that Marko was relieved of his position as a director of Red Bull Racing on December 19.
Simultaneously, a new director was registered on the same day, Alistair David Rew, who is the chief financial officer of Red Bull GmbH.
He is also listed as a director at other Red Bull sporting departments, such as Advanced Technologies and Powertrains.
His exact role within the racing team, and its other areas, is not yet clear, but it is expected that Laurent Mekies will remain the person ultimately responsible for the Formula 1 team.
