Red Bull has been dealt a clear majority verdict by Formula 1 fans, who believe its new power unit will allow Max Verstappen to fight for a fifth drivers' title.
For the start of the new power unit regulations in 2026, Red Bull has taken on the huge task of becoming its own engine supplier.
While it has Ford for technical support, the Milton Keynes-based outfit is largely dependent on itself from the start of the upcoming season rather than on another manufacturer.
Becoming an engine supplier is one thing, but becoming a successful one is another. Despite hiring individuals with a wide depth of experience, it remains behind the likes of Mercedes, Ferrari, and Honda.
Despite that, it enjoyed a largely positive five-day test in Barcelona, with the majority of F1 fans having confidence in Red Bull's power unit.
Following a poll by RacingNews365, a majority — 65.2% of voters — believe Red Bull's engine is good enough for Verstappen to challenge for a fifth title in six seasons.
As for the rest of the voters, 24.6% expect the Dutchman to secure some wins but not fight for the title, while 9.5% believe the Austrian squad will become a midfield team.
Remarkably, the final 0.7% of voters share the opinion that Red Bull will become a backmarker.
