Pirelli has shown off a fresh tyre marking design for the 2026 F1 season, moving away from the scheme it has used throughout most of its tenure in the sport.
A new design of the tyre graphics on the sidewalls will now incorporate a chequered flag logo.
The Italian marque states that the new design gives the F1 tyres a “completely different look compared to any other motorsport or roadgoing product made by Pirelli”.
However, it was keen to maintain its “historic design language” through the redesign.
The new designs were given their on-track debut at the post-season test from the Yas Marina Circuit on Tuesday.
Pirelli's tyre range next year will span from the C1 (the hardest) to the C5 (the softest).
The performance of the tyre is expected to be similar to the current specification, albeit with a wider and more consistent gap between the compounds, in the hope of inviting varying race strategies.
A further change is that the dimensions are smaller compared to the 2025 specifications to accommodate the new technical regulations.
While the wheel rim remains 18 inches, the tread width is 25mm less at the front and 30mm less at the rear. The total diameter is also 15mm less at the front and 10mm less at the rear.
One element of the tyres that will remain unchanged is the colour scheme - Pirelli will keep white, yellow, and red to identify the hard, medium, and soft tyres, while green and blue are still the colours for the intermediate and full wet.
