Oliver Bearman has revealed he has frequent conversations with Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur regarding his F1 performance.
The Briton is preparing for his second full season in F1 with Haas, having enjoyed a positive rookie campaign in 2025.
Although he is tied to race for Haas, Bearman is part of the Ferrari junior academy and has been tipped for a future seat at the team when an opening arises.
Bearman highlighted that nothing in his chats with Vasseur relate to a future seat, but rather his current performance behind the wheel.
“We catch up from time to time, talking about challenges that I'm facing in my season of F1,” he told media including RacingNews365.
“It’s just an open dialogue, really. I like to make it clear what's going on on my side, because it's easy to see just the result on paper - but that doesn't always tell the full story.
“There’s often a lot more to it. But regarding my future, [there is] no conversation. I just drive the car. I think the rest will sort itself out if I perform at a good level.”
Bearman has already had a race outing with Ferrari, as he stood in for a sick Carlos Sainz at the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Having since transitioned to a full-time driver, Bearman has revealed he gets communication from Ferrari over where he needs to improve his driving.
“No positive or negative feedback,” he said. “Like I said, it's an open discussion. We talk about what challenges I face.
“Also, the future, the [new] regulations are important. I have the same engine as what they will have.
“There’s been moments where they wanted me to improve on certain aspects.
“But for me, it was always going to be the case that I improve in these aspects, because my experience level is going up and I naturally get better over time.”
