The Monaco Grand Prix has been red-flagged on Lap 68 following a series of unusual crashes late in the race.
On Lap 61, Lance Stroll crashed at the final corner before a five-lap safety car period, which was then extended after Charles Leclerc's Ferrari crashed in the same place in identical circumstances on the Lap 65 restart.
The red flag is for an inspection of the track at Turn 19, which appeared to be breaking up, which had been resurfaced prior to the weekend.
Race control went out onto the circuit to complete inspections as the marshals tried to tidy the surface in anticipation for a restart.
It is the first time a grand prix has been red-flagged since the 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix, when Franco Colapinto crashed.
George Russell is under investigation for failing to serve a five-second time penalty correctly, with Pierre Gasly also facing a five-second drop after a series of drivers, including Lewis Hamilton and Oscar Piastri were also caught speeding in the pit-lane.
Under the red flag, the race order is as follows.
1. Antonelli
2. Hamilton
3. Hadjar
4. Russell
5. Gasly
6. Piastri
7. Lawson
8. Lindblad
9. Albon
10. Sainz
11. Ocon
12. Hulkenberg
13. Colapinto
14. Alonso
15. Perez
16. Bortoleto
DNF
Leclerc, Stroll, Norris, Bearman, Bottas, Norris, Verstappen
