Mercedes' time with Puma as a sponsor and clothing partner appears to be drawing to a close, with another German sports giant set to take its place come the end of the current F1 season.
RacingNews365 has learned that the eight-time constructors' champions are said to be in advanced talks with Adidas.
In extension of becoming the team's official apparel partner, it would be a deal supposedly worth something in the region of Red Bull's arrangement with Castore - said to be around the €30 million mark.
Apparently, in a meeting held in Austria, early development-stage clothing samples were shown internally as Mercedes. Allegedly, some new sponsors where visible which the German team is said to be hoping to announce in due course.
Adidas does not currently have an agreement with any of the other nine teams on the F1 grid. Puma, meanwhile has long been prevalent in the paddock.
Whilst Castore is still a relatively new company, it has good exposure in F1 after striking deals with both Red Bull and McLaren.
Nike is thought to have previously been in the running for a partnership with Mercedes, but any talks were ultimately unsuccessful.
