Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur has downplayed the significance of the Italian squad's innovative new rear wing system in Bahrain.
On the second day of testing, eyes were instantly fixated on Ferrari's rear wing, which spun around when entering the straight mode zones.
It is a noticeable deviation from the previous movement of the rear wing, leading to much intrigue over the element.
But Vasseur insists that contraptions exist throughout the grid, highlighting some are just more visble than others.
“I think everybody is doing innovation,” Vasseur told media including RacingNews365.
“Sometimes it's visible, sometimes it's not. I'm sure that our competitors, and everybody on the grid, is doing exactly the same.
“It's true that the last two bits that we bought on the track were visible from outside. But it's not a big difference from the others.”
With the new F1 season getting underway in just over two weeks' time, the teams are putting their final preparations in place as testing winds down.
Although the new Ferrari system has drawn a lot of attention, Vasseur is unsure if it will be used at the opening round in Australia.
“I don't know if it will be for Melbourne or for the next one,” he stated.
