Max Verstappen has suffered his first non-finish of the season after being hit by rookie Kimi Antonelli on the opening lap of the Austrian Grand Prix.
Verstappen took the start from seventh on the grid and made a strong start, moving ahead of Liam Lawson on the run to Turn 1.
However, as they hit the brakes into Turn 3, Antonelli appeared to lose control of his Mercedes into the corner and clashed with the rear of Verstappen.
It marked Verstappen's first non-score since the 2024 Australian Grand Prix and his first lap-one exit from a race since Sakhir, 2020.
Antonelli, meanwhile, has suffered his fourth non-score in five races.
The F1 stewards will investigate the incident after the race.
Verstappen and Antonelli joined Carlos Sainz on the sidelines, with the latter retiring after a mechanical concern on the formation lap.
