Max Verstappen has been voted the second favourite to make F1 history and become the first driver to win a grand prix from the pit lane.

Verstappen suffered a miserable qualifying for the São Paulo Grand Prix, suffering a Q1 exit on pure pace alone for only the second time in his 229-race start F1 career.

The four-time F1 champion qualified 16th; however, after taking "risks" with the RB21, according to team principal Laurent Mekies, that did not work, the team has opted to fit the car with a completely new power unit and make suspension set-up changes.

It leaves Verstappen starting the race from the pit lane, along with Haas driver Esteban Ocon.

In our latest RacingNews365 poll after qualifying, we asked you who would win the São Paulo GP at Interlagos, and a remarkable 30.5% of you - from almost 4,300 votes - opted for Verstappen, despite the difficult situation he faces.

Unsurprisingly, polesitter Lando Norris was the comfortable victor, with the McLaren driver taking 44% of the votes.

Behind Norris and Verstappen, it was close run between second-on-the-grid Kimi Antonelli in his Mercedes, and Norris' team-mate, Oscar Piastri, who lines up fourth.

Antonelli, the third-youngest driver to start a grand prix from the front row, collected nine per cent, with Piastri 7.71%.

Beyond that, the Ferrari duo of Charles Lecerc and Lewis Hamilton, from third and 13th on the grid respectively, picked up 3.75% and 2.24% respectively, with Racing Bulls' Isack Hadjar and Mercedes' George Russell just 0.65% each.
