Max Verstappen has been heavily backed by the vast majority of Formula 1 fans to fight for pole position in the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Dutchman was third fastest in both first and second practice, before topping the timesheets in the final session before qualifying.
Verstappen set the pace in FP3 on a 1m 30.148, ahead of championship leader Oscar Piastri. Remarkably, the top five were split by less than one-tenth of a second.
Red Bull's star driver has never claimed pole or a victory at the Marina Bay Circuit, although fans suspect that could be about to change.
In a RacingNews365 poll asking fans if Verstappen can fight for pole, a staggering 83.2% of voters backed the four-time world champion to be in the battle.
Exactly 7% expect him to not fight for pole but that a front row start is possible, while 4.9% believe the second row is the best on the cards for the 28-year-old.
Only 1.7% believe Verstappen will qualify on the third row or worse, leaving 3.2% of voters unsure what he will achieve.
