Martin Brundle has dismissed reports suggesting he is reducing his Sky Sports F1 commentary commitments as "utter clickbait nonsense" following speculation about his 2026 schedule.
The veteran broadcaster responded directly to concerns after online reports claimed he would scale back from 18 races in 2025 to 16 this season.
In a forthright response on social media, Brundle set the record straight, stating: "Utter clickbait nonsense, Margaret [who has tweeted their disappointment over one such post], don't be concerned.
"I've done 16 races per year for a good while now and continue to do so. In fact, with the cancellations, I am at 15 of the remaining 19 races this season, subject to world events of course, as always."
The 66-year-old's clarification confirms his workload remains unchanged from recent seasons, with the former racing driver having maintained a 16-race schedule rather than the 18 suggested in reports.
His attendance total of 15 further rounds reflects the reduced 2026 calendar, which now stands at 22 rounds following the cancellation of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia due to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
Brundle's schedule saw him attend the season-opening Australian Grand Prix, before missing the Chinese and Japanese rounds.
He has previously expressed regret about missing Suzuka, a circuit he particularly enjoys, but acknowledged the practical realities of his reduced schedule.
The Sky Sports commentator has been a fixture of the broadcaster's F1 coverage since 2012, working alongside lead commentator David Croft.
His experience and insight remain valued components of Sky's race-day presentation, with his continuation on the 16-race schedule maintaining the consistency viewers have come to expect in recent years.
