Lando Norris topped the timesheets in first practice ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix, with the new track surface offering remarkable lap times.
The McLaren driver has been the quickest driver in every first practice session this season so far, highlighting the Woking-based team's early dominance.
However, George Russell was within two-tenths of Norris, whilst the Ferraris secured third and fourth.
Red Bull also looked solid in the opening session, especially the team's new driver Yuki Tsunoda who was only one-tenth adrift of Max Verstappen.
