Liam Lawson has admitted his new Racing Bulls car can be "inconsistent" with its on-track behaviour.
Lawson delivered his verdict after wrapping up his pre-season test programme from Bahrain earlier this month.
The New Zealander is entering his second full-time campaign in 2026 and is seeking to build on the experiences he endured last year and lead the Red Bull sister squad through a successful campaign.
Having already put the car through its paces, Lawson identified some issues that need rectifying to optimise the performance.
"It's just probably a little bit inconsistent is the only thing," Lawson told media including RacingNews365.
"Honestly, [on the final day of running], in terms of specifically braking and entries, [they] actually were not too bad for us.
"We're trying a lot of different things at the moment and some stuff has not worked and other stuff we found has been quite positive."
However, Lawson is taking comfort in the knowledge that there are no dramatic anomalies that need addressing.
"I don't think there's really a standout issue or limitation that we have at the moment," he said.
"It's just sort of putting things together and preparing as well as we can.
"Melbourne is going to be very, very different compared to here."
