Lewis Hamilton has been urged by the Jamaican bobsleigh team to consider a shock move to bobsleigh to compete in the Winter Olympics.
The seven-time world champion is contracted to Ferrari until at least the end of 2026, although he reportedly has an option in his deal to remain with the Scuderia for 2027.
While his Formula One career is approaching its final stages, the Jamaica team believes he would excel in their sport despite being 41 years old.
Hamilton has previously stated that he has been interested in trying bobsleigh, with Jamaican athlete Tyquendo Tracey believing the switch is more than possible. Specifically, Tracey thinks Hamilton would be an excellent bobsleigh pilot — the athlete who sits at the front of the sled and drives it down the track.
Revealing Jamaica’s interest in Hamilton, Sky Sports reporter Geraint Hughes said: "Tracey is a huge F1 fan — a huge fan of Lewis Hamilton. And even though Lewis is getting on in age, 41 years, he still believes Hamilton would be quick enough at the start and could be a brilliant driver.
"Actually, in bobsleigh they’re called a pilot, as you pilot the sled down all the twists and turns on the ice.
"Such a good F1 driver — he could transfer those skills to bobsleigh. Tracey is convinced of it. And because bobsleigh is pretty fast, pretty hairy, pretty dicey — they get up to around 100 miles an hour.
"Lewis Hamilton — that’s chicken feed. He’s used to double that and more. So Jamaica are fans of Lewis Hamilton and would like him to consider switching to the Winter Olympics after his F1 career and coming over to bobsleigh."
