Lewis Hamilton teases fresh details about hitting rock bottom upon Hungary F1 return
Lewis Hamilton has suggested he will one day reveal the true story about his 2025 Hungarian GP weekend, where he hit rock bottom for Ferrari.
After qualifying 12th, an emotional Hamilton branded himself as "useless" and suggested that Ferrari should 'sign another driver' - as he also then laboured to 12th in the grand prix.
This came as a surprise in Hamilton's difficult first season with the Scuderia, given he has eight victories at the Hungaroring, a record nine pole positions, and holds the record for the most laps led by a single driver at any grand prix, with 487.
A year on, Hamilton is rejuvenated and has scored five podiums in the first 10 races of 2026, including a long-awaited first Ferrari win in Barcelona.
Reflecting briefly on what had happened during the 2025 weekend, Hamilton spoke of his pride at "digging myself out" from the place he was in - and suggested the true details of what had gone on will be revealed in his documentary.
"I am definitely proud of everyone in the team, and I am proud of myself for digging myself out of the place that I was in," Hamilton told media, including RacingNews365.
"One day, when I do my documentary, I will tell you all about that weekend and what led up to it, but yeah, to come from there, and into this week, I arrive worlds away from where I was last year.
"I am grateful for where we've developed as a team, the pieces to the puzzle that I am moving, coming together, and now we are here with a great car, a great package as a whole that we can fight with."
