Lewis Hamilton has been summoned to the F1 stewards for an alleged track limits infringement at the Singapore Grand Prix.

After equipping a set of soft tyres for the final stint, Hamilton made significant progress and passed team-mate Charles Leclerc before closing up to the back of Kimi Antonelli.

It looked likely that the seven-time champion was on for a fifth-place finish, which would have marked his best result since Silverstone in July.

However, he was hit with a brake issue in the final laps and was forced to dramatically reduce his pace in order to bring the car across the finish line.

Hamilton slipped back to seventh place and lost 45 seconds to Fernando Alonso on the final lap.

However, he managed to narrowly stay ahead of the Spaniard by four-tenths of a second at the chequered flag.

Hamilton will now visit the stewards who took issue with the Briton's track limit excursions towards the end of the grand prix.

Should he be handed a five-second time penalty, it would drop him back to eighth in the order.

Hamilton was ultimately awarded the five-second sanction, with the stewards' verdict available to read below.
